Shilpa Nikam

'My-Grant' in a sense is a stand in word for 'Migrant' and artist Shilpa Nikam, now a proud Mumbaikar, sees her life as a boon gifted by her migrant forefathers. Nature could be very kind at times and at other times it could play havoc, not only changing the history of a land and its future course but also of its people who would survive for sure but with the scars and ruptures that such a calamity could imprint on the generations. 

'My-Grant' is a ballad articulated in a very personal language. As grief and joy do not need words to speak out, optimism and prayer also need absolute silence to manifest and Shilpa Nikam has that silence in her works and sounds that make this silence possible through gradual subsiding.
